Party Poker Review

Party Poker is by far one of the largest online poker rooms in the world. Formerly home to thousands of American players, as a result of the UIGEA, Party Poker no longer accepts US players, but still has decent traffic.

Party Poker is listed on the London Stock Exchange, which goes a long way in ensuring that as a player you will not have to worry about them not paying out your winnings or that you will not get your money because of financial problems. They are such a big brand and so well established that there is nothing to think about except playing online poker and how much money you can expect to win against the fish.

Games and Tournaments

You can play Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, 7-Card Stud, 7-Card Stud Hi-Lo across a variety of different betting limits and table stakes.

For No Limit Hold’em, the cash game stakes range from $.50/$1 all the way up to $5/$10. When it comes to Fixed Limit Hold’em, the table stakes go up to $30/$60. There used to be higher limit games, but the higher stakes tables were removed a few years back due a decline in player traffic.

Party Poker is well known for their guaranteed tournaments. The tournament prize pools are varied and during the week there will be a wide variety of guaranteed tourneys to suit all bankroll levels. On the weekend, you have the Sunday Majors, but during the week, there are various smaller buy-in events that still have a sizeable prize pool to compete for.

Although the NLHE tournaments are by far the most popular, there are also some decent PLO tourneys in the Party Poker tournament schedule throughout the week, with guarantees ranging from $500-$5,000.

Party Poker has its own independent software catering to both PC and Mac online poker enthusiasts. Their poker client supports over a dozen languages and is therefore a truly international online poker room. A multi-currency poker site, Partypoker offers players the ability to deposit and play in Euros, Pounds, US Dollars and Canadian Dollars.

The Party Poker software offers simple navigation within the poker room lobby. You will be able to view detailed table statistics within the lobby and players will be able to play up to 12 tables at the same time, which is more than enough, even for hardcore mass multi-tablers.

You can also expect other standard features include custom avatars, quick seat options, four colour decks, note taking functionality, plus much more. The graphics aren’t super impressive but the software is easy to use.

There is also an instant play version and mobile version of their poker games for iOS and Android mobile devices.

Deposit Options

Players can make deposits through Credit Cards, Neteller, Skrill, PayPal, Western Union. The deposit options that will be available to you in the “Cashier” will be dependant on the country you reside in. For example, even though PayPal is available to residents in the United Kingdom, it’s not an option that is accessible to most other players.

Bonuses and Promotions

The Party Poker welcome bonus is not as big as some of the new South African poker sites, although free money can never be such a bad thing, right? The poker site will double your deposit up to $50.

Clearing the sign up bonus requires players to earn a certain number of Party Poker points. For every 8 PP points you’ve earned, you’ll get $1 of the bonus money.

Players who make a deposit will also get the opportunity to play in two freeroll tournaments exclusive to new depositors, which offer $100 in cash prizes. First time depositors can play in these freerolls for 60 days, giving new players to chance to hone their skills and build up a bankroll from nothing to be able to play in the real money poker games on Partypoker.

Safety and Security

Party Poker have the eCOGRA seal of approval, which reflects their commitment to fair, honest, and responsible gaming. The poker site has had their random number generator (RNG) certified by iTech Labs, an independent third party tester based in Australia, so you can be sure that hands dealt on the site are going to be a totally random event.

The site also takes collusion very seriously. They have developed a “collusion prevention system” to be able to detect and ban such players from playing in any games. Additionally, the use of 128-bit encryption helps to ensure your financial and personal information is completely secure.

Customer Support

Support at Party Poker is available 24/7 around the clock through e-mail or telephone support. It would be advised that you check out the FAQ pages on their official website before contacting the support team, as it answers most of the commonly asked questions of new players who are trying to create an account or make a deposit.
